Combine several PDF files into a single document

Many online applications, school platforms and job portals only let you upload one file. If your paperwork is spread across several PDFs (an ID, a proof of address, a certificate, a letter), you have to combine them before sending. That's what this tool is for.

You select your files, SoloHazlo combines them in the order you added them, and you download a single PDF with all the pages. You don't need to install software or create an account, and it works the same on a computer or a phone.

When merging PDFs comes in handy

Applications with a single upload field

Job, scholarship, enrollment or loan applications that ask for "all documents in one PDF file". Combine your ID, proof of address and certificates into one document and upload it in one go.

Expense reports

If your company asks you to back up travel expenses or reimbursements, you can put each invoice PDF together with its payment receipt and hand in a single file sorted by date, instead of ten separate attachments.

Homework and school projects

Classroom, Teams and other platforms often accept a single submission. Combine the cover page, the main content and the appendices (for example, pages scanned with your phone) into one PDF.

Records and personal files

Keep documents on the same topic together: a contract and its appendices, a year of bank statements, or the papers for a car or a home. They're easier to find later.

How to merge PDF files with SoloHazlo

01

Add your files in the order you want

The final PDF follows the order in which you add the files. You can select several at once or add them one by one; adding them one by one lets you control exactly what goes first.

02

Check the list

Before continuing you'll see each file numbered, with its size and the total size. Make sure they're all there and in the right position.

03

Merge and download

Press "Merge PDF". When it's done you'll see how many files were combined and the size of the result, and you can download it from the same page.

Tips to get it right the first time

Number your files before selecting them. If you rename them "01-id.pdf", "02-certificate.pdf", "03-address.pdf", your file browser will usually list them in that order when you select them all together.

Watch the total size. Many application portals limit files to a few megabytes. If your documents are scans or photos, the merged PDF can go over the limit. In that case, run it through Compress PDF.

Remove the password first. Password-protected PDFs (some bank statements, for example) usually can't be combined until they're unlocked with the program or service that created them.

If something ended up in the wrong place, don't start over. You can move pages of the merged PDF with Organize PDF, or remove the ones you don't need with Extract pages.

Common problems and how to fix them

I get "You need at least 2 PDF files"

The tool needs two or more documents to combine. If you've already added two and it still appears, check that both are really PDFs: a Word file or an image renamed with a .pdf extension isn't recognized as a valid PDF.

The merged PDF is too big to upload

The final size is roughly the sum of the original files. Use Compress PDF on the result to make it smaller.

The documents ended up out of order

When you select several files at once, the order depends on how your device lists them. To fix it, rearrange the pages with Organize PDF or repeat the process adding the files one by one.

One of the files causes an error

It may be password-protected or damaged. Try opening it on your computer: if it asks for a password or doesn't open properly, that's the file causing the problem.

What happens to your documents

To merge your PDFs, the files are sent to our server, combined, and the result is made available for you to download. The files you upload are deleted from the server as soon as the merge is done, and the generated PDF is deleted automatically shortly after, once you've had time to download it.

The files on your device aren't changed: SoloHazlo creates a new PDF from them.

Frequently asked questions about merging PDFs

How many files can I merge?

You need at least two. There's no maximum number of files, but the total size can't exceed 100 MB per operation.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. On Android and iPhone you can pick files from Downloads, Files or Google Drive. It's handy for merging documents someone sent you by WhatsApp or email without moving them to a computer.

Is quality lost when merging PDFs?

No. Merging only puts the pages together; it doesn't recompress the text or images, so every page looks the same as in its original file.

Can I merge images (JPG or PNG) with PDFs?

This tool only accepts PDF files. If you have photos of documents, convert them to PDF first and then merge them here.

Does it cost anything, or do I need to sign up?

No. Merge PDF is free and doesn't require an account. The site is supported by ads.
